From the old city gates of Dordrecht the river landscape still reminds us of the way it must have looked hundreds of years ago.
To the right of this picture the city of Papendrecht is slowly but surely closing down this historic Dutch landscape - letting uncivilized project developers build their money making high rise apartment buildings. On the other side of the river it was possible to put a (temporary?) halt to the salivating project developers, who see such beauty in terms of hard cash. This is one of the reasons why, already in the early nineties, I chose this site to propose and build an international sculpture park. With support of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands this growing sculpture park was realized .
